Wednesday 6th to Thursday 7th July 2022 at Bridgewater.
We had delayed our return to MM for a day, so arrived back at the Marina on Wednesday afternoon after a relatively easy journey from Reigate. Looking down from the road it was a welcome sight to see MM waiting.
The fridge was bare! So we walked to the nearby Sainsbury's Local and, among other things, bought wine and chocolates for the super chaps who had looked after MM in our absence (and kept the geraniums watered for three weeks!). These were very well received, to the point that they invited us to stay an extra night "on the house". We accepted, as the idea of a quiet day wandering around the nearby Bridgewater RHS Garden was very appealing.
So, Thursday morning saw us heading back to the RHS Garden and starting with breakfast on the terrace.
We paused again at the information board where we had met Chris and Gay so unexpectedly last month.
A glimps of the "ornamental" lake, once overlooked by Worsley New Hall, which used to be where the trees are in the background. Sadly, it was demolished in the 1960s. The RHS still has a lot of work to do up here but nevertheless it provides a lovely walk around the lake.
M's favourite picture of this trip. R on the stepping stones across the beautiful Chinese Stream. There has been a great deal of collaboration with China over the design of some of the layouts and buildings, with an emphasis on calming, tranquil spaces.
Back on MM for our last night here.
MM continued to rest and relax (as did we too).
