Sunday 10th September 2023 at Church Minshull.
This morning dawned very clear, no mist today and the forecast is for another warm day.
As these are 48 hour moorings, we set off today but only to go a few miles to Church Minshull. On the way, we were visited by this lovely dragonfly who posed for M's camera.
We have seen this house (converted stables) before but now it's up for sale. A quick look up on the internet confirmed that it is a beautifully done conversion but a bit outside our price range! Interestingly, in many ways it was a larger version of a Many Meetings, being long, narrow and open plan. So we would have felt completely at home!
Church Minshull is one of our favourite moorings with the canal on the side of a hill overlooking the valley of the River Weaver and a panoramic view for miles to the west.
Halfway through dinner, nb "Tillybud" arrived and started to moor behind us but was having trouble getting into the side. We both went out to grab a rope and help them moor. They turned out to be a delightful couple and we easily fell into conversation. Luckily dinner was salad (nectarine, prosciutto and mozarella!), so it could happily wait!
They had three dogs on board who were very interested in what was going on, not least because they were used to being fed just after they moored up!
These moorings have a clear view to the horizon, so the sunsets are always very pretty (if the clouds allow).
Today: 3 miles, 0 locks and 1.9 hours.
Trip: 225 miles, 87 locks and 116.3 hours.
