Saturday 10th to Monday 12th July 2021 in Guildford.
When we decided to come down to Guildford this year, we thought that it would be the weekends that would be the busiest with visitors; however, the reality has been the opposite. The only visitor we had this weekend was Adrian, who came up on Saturday morning. It was so nice to see him again.
The three of us walked into Guildford together to try the Greek coffee and pastry shop that we found last week. What a find it turned out to be!
One of the staff, a lad called Nikos, comes from Glyfada a very small suburb near Athens, where Adrian's Dad's relatives still live. They had a lively chat and we ate far too much baklava!
On Sunday we had the day off doing domestic chores and on Monday we took the bus home for the day. R came back on the bus at tea time - much delayed by lots of flooding between Reigate and Dorking after torrential rain all afternoon. In the way of such things, by the time the bus reached Gomshall, the roads were dry because it hadn't rained there at all.
M went and did her spin class at the gym and then caught the train to Guildford as the bus doesn't run that late.
MM had the weekend off too!
