Lunch at "The Manor" with Charles, Emma, Penny and Minnie.

Sunday 4th July 2021 at "The Manor" and Guildford.

We made an early start from Godalming down to the mooring that is conveniently right outside "The Manor" Beefeater pub about a mile down river.

Charles, Emma and the girls arrived about midday and we had an excellent lunch in the pub and the chance for a long delayed catch-up. It was great to see them all again.

After lunch, and an extended play in the pub's playground for the girls, there was time for a short cruise. True to form, the heavens opened so the trip was under the brollies but nobody seemed to mind, there was much merriment and we had lots of fun.

Penny took the helm and did quite well to keep MM from the riverbank with a little help.

Minnie also took the helm but never quite got the connection between the helm and MM's direction. Not helped at all by the fact that she was too short to see where she was going! Despite that, she clearly enjoyed the experience!

At Unstead lock, they left us to walk back to The Manor just as the rain conveniently stopped.

We carried on to Guildford and moored up on the water meadows again. A lovely day full of smiles and laughter.

Today: 3 miles, 3 locks and 1.9 hours.

Trip: 252 miles, 130 locks and 121.2 hours.
